Success for Toynbee Artist at the Tate Modern

These notes on Gemma are taken from The Times article.

Gemma Davis, 16, Toynbee Secondary School, Southampton.
Accidentally discovered that she was good at art age 13 when she was inspired to draw Aragon from The Lord of the Rings. Favourite piece is a portrait of John Wayne. Was commissioned to draw a pet dog when she offered her services as an artist in a raffle. Inspired by Doctor Who, Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean. Says: I did my self-portrait in front of the mirror. I thought the pose was a bit like my character, I can be a bit shy. I got a bit frustrated because my hair kept moving.
Congratulations Gemma
