Here are the main findings from the Home School Links Evening which took place on Thursday 21st October on 'Homework, Coursework and Study Support'. The findings have been raised with the school's teaching staff in meetings and reinforced on the weekly staff diary.

Suggestions

Homework checked by teachers and initialled by teacher in planner to acknowledge that they have recorded the homework.

Homework varies from week to week - this possibly could be due to it not being recorded.

Allocated time in lesson to write task in planner.

How can parents be sure that missed lessons are covered before homework is set?

Expectation of homework made clear i.e. 1 x A4 page.

Feedback from teachers needs to guide pupils if problems occur with homework not being done.

Study support is a good idea.

If possible make pupils aware of when they can ‘find’ teachers to clarify any homework issues.

Where possible staff to keep to published homework timetables for that year group.
