We are a school which relishes its community identity. The majority of children from the local community attend Toynbee, and many parents and relatives support school activities and attend evening classes. We have a good relationship with local community organisations, and have a strong programme of liaison with our local Primary Schools. Our board of Governors play an active role in the management of the school, and visit the campus regularly. We also greatly value the professional advice and support available from Hampshire Education Authority. Parents are very important to the partnership that is necessary if each pupil is to achieve his or her potential. Toynbee has an active Parents' Association, which in addition to raising funds, is consulted on policy issues, and stages special meetings to advise and inform parents on a range of issues that impact on young people today. |
